Questions

The things people ask before they buy, and the two or three they ask afterwards. If yours is not here, write to us — a real person answers.

What do I actually get?
One PDF, sized for US Letter paper (8.5 × 11 inches). Print the whole book at home, or print a single page fifty times if that is the page you want to keep practising. Nothing is posted to you and nothing is mailed later — the file is yours the moment you check out.
Do I need special pens or paper?
No. Faux calligraphy is done with any ordinary pen — a fineliner or a gel pen is ideal, and a pencil is fine while you are learning. Ordinary printer paper works; slightly heavier paper (24 lb / 90 gsm) is kinder to pen tips and stops ink showing through.
I have never done calligraphy. Is this too hard?
Faux is the style beginners are told to start with, because the difficulty is not in the pen. You write the word in your normal joined-up hand, then thicken the downstrokes afterwards. Every book opens with stroke drills and the full alphabet before it asks you to write a single verse.
Which Bible translation do you use?
The King James Version, always. It is in the public domain, which means we can print it in full, in a traceable script, without asking anyone for permission — and it is still the version most people picture when they picture a written verse.
How do I get the file after I pay?
Checkout is handled by Polar.sh, our merchant of record. Polar emails you a receipt with an "Access purchase" button that opens your customer portal — sign in with the same email address (Polar sends a one-time code, there is no password) and the PDF is there to download. You can go back to that portal and re-download any time; nothing expires.
Can I print it more than once?
Yes. The licence is personal use, and it has no page or copy limit: print it for yourself and for the people in your house, as many times as you like. Reselling the file, sharing it publicly, or handing it out as your own class material is not covered — for a church group, Bible study or classroom set, email us and we will sort out a group licence.
What makes the large-print editions different?
They are re-set, not enlarged. The traceable script is bigger, the guide rows are taller and further apart, the instructions are set larger, and lines are broken at 32 characters instead of 46 so nothing gets cramped at the right margin. They run a few pages longer as a result.
Is this a good gift?
It is one of the reasons people buy it — baptisms, confirmations, a bridesmaid box, a grandmother who wants something to do with her hands. Because it is a file, you can buy it at eleven at night and still print and wrap it. If you want it to feel like a gift, print it single-sided on heavier paper and bind it with a bulldog clip and a ribbon.
Can I get a custom book — my own verse, our names, our wedding date?
Not yet as something you can order on the site. The engine that makes these books is built for it, and it is next on the list. Email us if you want one now and we will tell you when it opens.
Can I get a refund?
Yes, within 30 days, if the file will not open, prints wrong, or is not what the page described. Because the download is instant we ask that you tell us what went wrong first — most problems are a printer setting we can fix in one email.
